I think the idea here is to finish the model as you would if painting it, thus the final clear coat is over everything including the decal.

Meh... Supply the model olive drab and allow the builder decide if he wants the decal on it or not.

If you are looking for drawings (accurate) of old Fords, etc. look at my artwork on Fine Art America.com , the check the artist block and then type in my name...Richard Henderson. Good luck on the museum !

Well, the problem is that all the scale documentation for this plane HAS the bubble canopy. I'm thinking of asking them to do both versions. One of the Old Crow with the Bubble canopy and then one of a different P51B withOUT the bubble canopy. To many of the scale enthusiasts, when I showed them this prototype they all got upset. Old Crow P51B HAS the bubble top!

As for Model Tech, I think the plan for next year is to be very aggressive. There are many beautiful scale birds in the works along with some nice sport planes too.

I really like the fact that it's NOT a "bubble top"! Good to see Model Tech back in the game with an aggressive strategy.

The tan is actually Ultracote/Oracover Tan. We had to modify the color to match the covering! Also note that the big Gilmore Red Lion Model has arrived from BH!

F.Y.I.
The actual Gilmore Red Lion # 121 is in the Wedell-Williams Memorial Museum in Patterson, LA along with a few other classic planes from the 30's. It's a very cool museum.

Do you have the manufacturer's specs/paint code for the "Silver Creme" paint? We are restoring a 50's canned ham camper trailer and when we saw the actual color scheme on the plane, we knew that's the paint combo we want on our trailer.

Thanks,

Gary

Thanks for the answer to my question that I was looking for.

It would help if Airtronics would publish that in the radio specs of the manual.
